Traditions

Traditions are important in that they are potent. Each time we come together during the holidays it isn't just because our family wants to see us, its also to honor our ancestors and thier practices that meant so much to them.

As I get older I begin to understand the importance of these ancient practices, and as I read ancient yogic texts I realize that much of it is not exactly current or neccessary but honoring them and thier teaching in a current way is continuing the living experience we all share.

So as you get your holiday plans, gifts and other things together be grateful since no 2 holiday seasons are the same. People change, technology changes... the only thing constant is change. Let's honor the things that have a steady pulse and use those times as a reflection period.
