The Yoga of Chocolate

A Lulu's Chocolate Bar...The ritual of opening the package, the sound it makes, the smell, what memories come up... does your mouth tend to water, your heart skip a beat?.... and then you taste it!... the texture, do you slurp it or savor it, does it shift your state completely or just make you loose all your senses all together....

The experience of chocolate when treated like a ritual can be as sacred as any yoga practice or visa versa you can treat anything in life with this much sacredness...

Your senses allow you to drink in your experience noticing which ones are favored and then allowing them all to balance, maybe even to a place of senselessness is Pratayahara...

Paying attention to one object with such intensity is called Dharana this level of concentration helps you to easily drop into Dhyana or Meditation...

As we know from eating the prefect piece of chocolate it can be an enlightening experience and if we treat our yoga practice with the same sacredness we practice this level of presence to hopefully sustain throughout our daily lives.
